When I type “sannin” for the reading of 三人, it is eating the second n and I get さんいん instead of さんにん. This seems to occur in any ん + na/ne/ni/no/nu combination. It does not happen with other ん combinations.
You need to type it 3 times. Typing ‘nn’ (2 n’s) will always give you ん.
三人 = さんにん = sannnin

Well, you’ve also gotta be careful when ん is followed by あ-line and や-line kana too, otherwise you’ll wind up with な instead of んあ or にゃ instead of んや.
For other other combinations, it doesn’t happen because it’s not ambiguous. Typing “nta”, say, can’t be anything besides んた.
