So the first new word I learned today is 地獄耳 - じごくみみ which means to be quick learning secrets; to have sharp ears and I weirdly really like it. And even if I just started reading ミステリと言う勿れ because it’s free right now on Bookwalker, I really like it so far (even though it’s pretty heavy on dialog - my head hurts )
So I had some insomnia last night, which I decided to treat by reading half of Railgun. And then when it came to reading today, I read the other half of Railgun, which puts it as the first manga I’ve finished this year (and also the first entry to tick off on my Natively bingo for the sci-fi category).
I’ve also decided to take a leaf out of @Redglare 's formatting and use for marking off days where I read and reserving for days where I finished something in my home post.
today was my birthday so i treated myself to doing the finale of gaiden! i thought it would be a lot longer than it actually was (it was shorter than lost judgment’s anyway) but it was really good!! the final boss might be one of my favourite in the series and tho i wish there’d been more, i get why there’s not.
One chapter of ふらいんぐうぃっち today, plus a little Vampire’s Melody VN. I love to read VNs, it’s my favorite medium by far, but I really like ふらいんぐうぃっち manga too. I’m so glad that there are so many things to read in Japanese, and the more I learn the more I can read!
Don’t know how to do home posts, but will come back and edit this if I figure it out…
Aiming to read my first full JP book this year, doing one page a day (at least until I hopefully pick up steam as it becomes easier) of コンビニ人間. 7 pages in so far, enjoying it, appreciating the many times IBC has covered it and answered just about all my questions along the way.
same same today, chose an article from NHK easy news and broke it down. I already feel like I’m deciphering words quicker than when I first started a few days ago, yay ! In addition to this I force myself to read through every Japanese influencer story post I come across so I guess that counts as practice?
Ooh you’re quite a bit behind us in chapters but if it interests you to discuss it with anyone we’re doing an informal bookclub for 理由 over on Natively! I’ve also been adding a character sheet as we go since the list is so big and sometimes you start to forget who is who
I agree, the prose is very dense and documentary style.
Another couple of chapters. A lot of funny moments.

Started reading the Silent Witch together with the book club. I want to follow the schedule, so for now it is only the prologue. I really like the language so far. A lot of nice descriptive vocab and pretty simple grammar.

Nothing in particular outside of the daily necessary reading to get around. I’m somewhat torn about counting this day but I started doing my reviews again from this day, so I’d like to count it as I was purposely studying despite not spending much time intentionally reading.

We went to the local zoo so I had the chance to read different animal species and their information in Japanese.

Finished up to section 3 of the first chapter of Rascal Does Not Dream. This is page 37/360 , 10%, and the breakpoint for my book club.
I tried to move on to my second Book Club book since Silent Witch began today but I have to look up more stuff and my phone’s dictionary lookup doesn’t work properly with Bookwalker for about 2 weeks now. It works fine for 1-3 words and then the option to look up disappears and the app no longer syncs where I’m reading. So I’m wasting a lot of reading time trying to figure out alternative solutions.
Ooh that’s cool thanks for telling me! I’ll definitely be referring to the thread a lot because of the sheer amount of characters in this story I’ll see how much I can catch up to the thread’s progress!
