Legend of Heroes Trail of Cold Steel 2
Today I watched all remaining bonding events and advanced the main story line. It seems that I slowly progress towards the end of the game. They are talking about a finale and the game starts to prepare the storyline for the next game. I am now in chapter 2 part 4 and once again got some new optional quests. Like always I will do them all and try to find all students. But even if I am careful not to miss something I still miss things now and then. It’s really hard playing this series without a guide.
Also I read five pages Konosuba.

Good reading month!! I finished 3 novels this month and 4 manga, which is “technically” less than the 3 novels and 5 manga in December, but I read 80% of my first novel in November rather than December, so in terms of pages read and time spent reading January wins out for sure. I feel pretty solidified in my reading habit, and I’m excited to carry on this progress! My yearly goal was 20 novels, and at this current rate that goal should get smashed. I’m not going to update that goal until I surpass it, though, so sometime later this year if I get there I’ll reevaluate it.
Today, I finished the first chapter of 5 in お探しものは図書室まで. This book is so good. Seriously, anyone looking for relatively easy novels to read, stick 青山美智子’s books right up the top. She’s my favourite japanese author - her books are all just so… comfy…aaaaa…柔らかー
She’s kind of the opposite end of the spectrum from 村上 where nothing really makes sense and there’s this one obstinate male character who likes jazz and swimming and reading The Great Gatsby and who never really actually changes except for maybe discovering some weird kind of metaphorical darkness within and expelling it. Oh, and throw in some motifs of cats and deep wells. (That sums up almost every Murakami novel, doesn’t it? More or less) Don’t get me wrong, I love murakami. But for just sitting down and reading a bunch of lovely little stories of people discovering the joy of life and putting a smile on your face, gimme 青山美智子 all the way baby.

January Summary
Life and stuff
The time flew! At the beginning of January, I was on holiday and had plenty of time + was in the middle of a fanfiction binge already, so it was super easy to jump on the challenge. However, starting from week 3, I had to return back to uni and start preparing for the two last exams of the semester (thank god that's over, at least for now), which meant my tempo and volume of reading dropped substantially.Reading
As for the stuff I read - I thought I might prefer shorter content in Japanese, but just like in English I actually love longer stories, where plots and characters have more time to develop and gain depth. I get emotionally invested and then 
boom I suddenly can’t stop reading. I especially enjoyed stuff from あきらめた後の物語 and onwards. I am wrapping up January while in the midst of サラバ、愛しき悲しみたちよ, which I am loving so far.
Honourable Metions

The Most Difficult: さよなら、俺の愛したヤクザ → me and Jisho had a ball with this one; made me feel very stupid xD -
The Most Gruesome Cliffhanger: ハタチの選択 → still haven’t recovered, this should be illegal -
The Most Promising: サラバ、愛しき悲しみたちよ → I am not done with it yet (in fact I barely started) so I might change my mind, but so far the setup and the writing style are very much to my liking! + the difficulty seems to be 
just right
I also loved both あきらめた後の物語 and 何度、出逢っても、きっと which were both very cute. In the latter, it was refreshing to read a good ol’ amnesia arc , especially after the serious and somewhat painful story of あきらめた後の物語.
Going forward
Even though the exams are now over, I don't think I will get any extra time to read – I should be able to just keep on going though. I will be busy with uni, work and some necessary travel, but I have a habit of reading in bed before sleep, so it should be fine (unless I am so tired I can't keep my eyes on the text). I enjoyed this challenge so far, so a big thank you to @DIO-Berry for hosting.
I shall report again by the end of February~

two chapters of 3月のライオン and i’m back on board again! i always like arcs with this character. today’s quote search for psycho-pass was from hawaii five-o, of all things 
it also opened with a bonus story, main plot starts from next chapter

Finished yesterday’s scene and continued with the next one…or not.
Well, I have a confession to make and that is that I mostly skipped the scene that followed after which amounted to 87 text boxes. That scene introduces and features a character I can’t stand and whose route I never bothered finishing when I read the VN in English over one year ago because it quickly got too rape-y.
I read through today’s scene once on my 1st Japanese playthrough but this time and every subsequent time I’ll just keep skipping this one because the less I see of that character the better, all my homies hate Iba. 
For today’s stats I therefore only counted the text boxes I actually read which were 45 boxes.

January 31st - Home post
Last day of January! Lots of reading to day too. A little Aokana VN pluss a little ふらいんぐうぃっち and a little 焼いてるふたり. I’m not usually a big manga reader, but now I have a few series that I really like. Some are a little too hard and some are easy and I breeze through the pages. I like the variety!

デスノート - Chapter 15 and 16 finished 
With this, I have finished Volume 2. I feel like I’m going to see 盗聴器 a lot from now on, just like 心臓麻痺 is everywhere.
