Oops, got so behind on the BBC that they finished the book. So now I’m catching up. 
This was the week 4 section. The vocab sheet makes reading such a breeze with all the slang and the lack of furigana, feels like cheating. Still trucking along with HP, going to hit my 25% goal for the challenge early, I guess!

It was getting late, but I was able to read a level 0 Tadoku Book. It made more sense than when I read this one several weeks back. Recognized vocab for colors/verbs and bits of grammar I recently learned.

Managed to get some decent reading time in over the past few days.
Finally pushed through chapter 6 of Bungo which took some time because there were so many new words related to crime, political corruption etc and it was the most text heavy chapter I’ve read by far. I’m still going back through and adding a few of them each day to Anki.
Also read through Chapter 11 of Bluelock Episode Nagi. Enjoyed this, not too much new vocab, and felt like (apart from the odd part) I was confident in my understanding of what was being said.

read the last 30 or so pages of the bakumatsu book and finished it! not sure i’d recommend reading it in huge chunks like this, and the closest it comes to ever being vaguely critical of any of the people involved is one comment about a guy taking bribes, but it was a good read! lots of accessible historical terms, the manga sections were cute, and the map at the back is very helpful.
today’s nhk article was this one, notable cos it has 癒着 in it which came up in my current wk level and like an idiot thought ‘when am i ever gonna come across this???’ …oops. plus the entry on ては in aDoIJG
phrase of the day: 九死に一生を得る - to narrowly escape danger

- 税理士 = tax consultant
- 恥ずべき = shameful (behavior). Maybe from 恥ずる which is 恥じる.
- 躁鬱病 = manic-depressive disorder. That is, bipolar disorder, literally = 双極性障害. The first Kanji can be used alternately in 焦燥 (焦躁), while the latter is more used in Chinese.

5000 character combined, between Christmas Tina and Island. Finished chapter 2 of Christmas Tina and read a bit further in Island. I want to read more and more and more, but 5000 characters is enough for one day.
I think one page of normal text in a novel is about 400 characters, right? So 5000 characters in a VN equals 12 or 13 pages in a normal novel. I’m never able to read that much in a novel on Kindle, but reading a VN and reading one sentence at a time helps. Now I just have to stop hunting for more VNs and read the ones I have!

Finished one book, started another. The book I finished was まあまあ okay. It was enjoyable, but I wouldn’t read it again or recommend it in particular.
・ 今はもうない - Switch Back (0% → 2%)
Now, this book (Saikawa and Moe series book 8 which is being read the book club) is much longer, so it’s going to take quite a while. It’s also kind of philosophical(?) in a way that makes me want to shake my head. (Haha, I keep complaining every time I’m reading another book from this series. まったく)

I read 丸メガネ寮母さん which is a Lv2 Tadoku book. It felt rather honest. I also read にゃんにゃん探偵団 but got distracted looking up verb conjugations, so it was only a few pages.

Thoughts:
I read two webcomics from a web novel I used to read years ago, in fact wanting to read his work was one of the reasons I got interested in Japanese. Sadly, I think he fell off a bit, or maybe my tastes have just changed since I met last read his work haha.
Also, I read Shonen Sunday #20! Not every manga in it, but all the ones I’m caught up on!
