Orange

Read nothing yesterday. It is nice to sometimes take a day off and not worry about it.

Today I finished the last chapter of volume 7 of Orange, a crossover chapter with Dreaming Sun which was a fun goof. And that is about all there is to say about it.

Tomorrow I’ll either pick up Loopers, or start reading ahead on B$. Will have to decide which I prefer.

I see Natively is finally rolling out their video tracking! I was really looking for a good way to separate my english subs watched shows from my jp subs watched shows, since unfortunately stuff like MAL and anilist don’t let you track that (and why would they? they’re normal media database not a learning resource, so it makes sense). But maybe I get back into watching more stuff again now that I have a convenient way to track it without making a whole separate MAL account. I really have kinda been laser focused on improving my reading for a while now, but could probably stand to gain from doing some more dedicated listening practice

Today I read chapter 6 and 7 of Komi Can’t Communicate.
The first five chapters didn’t quite catch my interest, but chapter 6 has got me hooked!
Despite promising myself that I wouldn’t join any more offshoot clubs for a while, I suspect I’m going to be joining if this one gets an offshoot.

Is there some sort of support group for people who are addicted to bookclubs… or would that inevitably end up turning into a bookclub too…

I think you were reading ホリミヤ? The drama ホリミヤ S1 | L24 I watched and thought was very accessible. If you an find a copy (or a place streaming it) I’d recommend it assuming that was you reading it!

Oops… I probably should have, but instead I finished the 5 chapter story of 春色アストロノート that was spread across the first five volumes of Orange. Now my Bookmeter is entirely correct, I have in fact read all the pages of volume 1-5 of Orange now, which I hadn’t before.

The story was better than I expected it to be after the first couple of chapters. Entertaining enough to read 多読 style, and reading all 5 chapters right after each other.

I was gonna say I’ll probably never reread it, but… when I was about to type that I had to stop. It might actually be good enough to reread at some point. Chapters 3-5 really made up for the first two chapters being a bit meh.

I was really trying to hold out and not buy much new manga since I’m moving soon… but I caved when I saw a used lot on yahoo jp that had a bunch of good stuff in it for super cheap (whole lot was like $15 before shipping)… I was so close to having my 読んだ本 be larger than my 積読本 pile… oh well guess that just means i need to read more

I know jjk will be too hard for me for a while, there’s chapters of that series I struggle to make sense of in english sometimes I’m looking at you fucking pachinko-romcom-jackpot domain man. monogatari manga has been on my list for a while, and the preview looked in-principle readable (but still probably a challenge. I’m at least familiar with the story already). Love hina and あそびあそばせ are definitely doable. Not sure about the top one, i’m not a huge fan of sports manga most of the time, but I’ll try it out. I’m often pleasantly surprised when reading new things as long as i’m in the mood to try something new

Everytime I try I suffer from severe brain rot. Not that its a dumb story, but my brain just goes into overdrive and runs on all cylinders to make it through one volume. The anime for me wasn’t much better, but at least I know I will be done in 22 minutes. xD
