Reading streak: 193 days
Hello hello again everyone! I see many familiar faces so far from the fall reading challenge but some new ones as well! I look forward to reading together with all of you!
Currently Reading:
- Manga: 三ツ星カラーズ７ + abbc and bbc picks
- Book: on break
- Textbook: 新完全マスター読解N3
- News: NHK News Web Easy/Wikipedia
- Game: ポケモン サファイア and どうぶつの森e+
Goals:
Like with the last challenge my primary goal is just to miss no days of reading and keep that reading streak going! I’m still defining a successful reading day as one chapter of manga, since that has been doable for me even on busy/bad days.
I also have been thinking ahead a little bit about my long term goals for 2023, and what I will need to start doing now in order to achieve them. My main three goals for 2023 are:
- Finish every volume of manga I currently physically own (not nec. including any new stuff I buy this year, but just clear out stuff so it doesn’t get buried by the new) - This is going to work out to around 66冊 in 52 weeks, so a little bit more than 1 a week on average. Doable! For this challenge I’d like to knock out the rest of ホリミヤ for sure, and then probably either 三ツ星カラーズ or しろくまカフェ to fill out some time, and then start working on 3月のリオン in earnest during the titular month.
- I want to transition into reading more stuff which is pure text. Little less specific since I don’t have the experience here to know what I’m going to want to read or what I will like reading! But, I hope to have a better understanding of that by the end of this seasonal challenge. I want to read at least one volume of either a childrens book, light novel, or a full collection of short stories.
- Be prepared to take the JLPT N2 test by December 2023. Maybe this is a bit ambitious, but I think it’s probably doable. Whether I actually sit for the test or not, I’d like to be at a level where I would feel comfortable doing it. For this reading challenge, I’d like to finish working through the 新完全マスター読解N3 book that’s been sitting on my desk since last summer.
