Jk, but kinda. I skipped yesterday, so today I finished Part B of the Workbook and read the brush-up/kanji challenge today. I just don’t feel like doing part C of the workbook rn, but I will get to it someday. Maybe I can treat it like review practice when I finish Quartet I?
Had a lovely speaking practice session with @Shannon-8 and another discord partner last Sunday, which was a really busy day for me lol.
I am trying to do 第2課:読み物1 today to make up for my laziness, so I will be starting Ch. 2 today!
Edit: 教科書の読み物1 completed, will do workbook 読み物1 tomorrow maybe.
Ooh, I’d be interested in joining! I haven’t quite finished the Genki 2 workbook yet, but I’ve already finished the textbook with ToKini Andy and have drilled all the grammar points in BunPro for a while. (Except for a couple points of keigo which I will sprinkle in slowly, my brain got scrambled when I added all of them at once )
I still haven’t bought the Quartet books, but the thought has slowly been creeping up from the back of my mind…
読み物1 and 読み物2 down! Did the A and B of both 読み物 sections in the workbook, just gotta do C for 読み物 now. Will maybe do those on the Tokiniandy video days.
Slow to get my corrections partially because I post them so late (I am lazy) and partially because I have to do more corrections to keep my ratio up (I am lazy x2).
I have now completed part A and a portion of B of 第2課ワークブック, so I will mark the Grammar section complete as I have done the basic grammar exercises so far.
Letter done! Did it late today cause I was lazy and then my sister called me for like an hour right as I started typing
Ugh, had little motivation these past couple days for the speaking and listening
sections. I did half of speaking yesterday, finished it today, and did the listening “write O” exercises today, but didn’t complete the sentence questions.
Thanks for the motivation! Rather than feeling stuck and giving up, I just decided to move on to ch.8 after the listening exercise in ch.7. Luckily ch.8 was a lot more interesting to me than ch.7.
第8課ー読み物
読み物1「日本一の旅館」
The 旅館の加賀屋 is apparently on the Noto Peninsula (能登半島) in 石川県 and was heavily damaged in the M7.6 earthquake on Jan.1 2024. It seems there are plans to re-open in a newly designed building nearby early in 2026. From their website (https://www.kagaya.co.jp/), the previous building looked like it was a really nice, scenic place to stay:
Seems like Bertrand&Co is still going strong in 京都 (since 2008). I’ve always enjoyed the scenes in anime of people eating their bento lunches, so I understand why Thomas Bertrand started his Bento company. From their website (https://bertrandco.com/), there are a lot of neat products for sale. I really want the Jiji-themed (from 魔女の宅急便) and puppy-theme bento boxes:
Alright, I’ve done the reading and listening for Chapter 5! Almost done now… I have to say doing the listening and reading is pretty dull. But the grammar explanations are definitely helpful so I’m glad I’m still working through the book.
Okie, finished 読み物1 and 読み物2! Gonna watch grammar 1st half today. Also, this reading is very related to me today, as I’m gonna go eat ramen with my friends
I did finish my grammar exercises on Sunday, but I just haven’t posted them. Had a lovely speaking session with soggyboy to finish Chapter 2.
Finished my essay today, felt a little tired these past few days. Will do Chapter 3 speaking in 1 day tomorrow to make up for it, and maybe also listening and brush-up in a day.
Did my listening practice and brush-up on Wednesday, but didn’t post it till today, and finished kanji challenge yesterday, so moving on to chapter 4. I guess it’s a slight burnout that I’m hitting, but I don’t want to slow down while I’m still on summer break from college.
