There is a known bug , due to which some users have problem logging into the application. It is (presumably) fixed in new build. So you can sign up for beta testing or wait for the update on the AppStore. Alternatively you can regenerate your API key here (https://www.wanikani.com/account).
Looks neat! While Iâm probably not exactly tester material, I would love to use the app in the future.
Are some additional features like statistics, ignore answer button (I fumble tons of my reviews due to lousy typos on the phone) or do level-gating items first planned?

+1 for all of this, especially an ignore answer button. I'm one of the lucky few to still have the old app downloaded, and I make SO MANY TYPOS that I end up just rage quitting and waiting till I get to a computer, which kinda defeats the purpose of a phone app.

@optosi , @acetylide As someone who haven't used the old app, I don't know what exactly do you mean by "ignore answer button". I haven't seen any API regarding ignoring anything.
You can make some screenshots of the old app and post them here as a reference.
The old app doesn't have a igonre answer button. But I think they are refering to the fact that an 'ignore answer button' would be a great feature to have in a new iOS app because the iPhone keyboard is sooo tiny it is super easy to make mistakes and press enter before realising you typed a mistake.
Indeed, about half of the errors I make in the iOS app are typos, and it is indeed very frustrating!
@marcsan Not really sure whatâs the problem with typos and the old app. Iâve been using mine for reviews for 2 days exclusively (no website), and havenât made a single typo.
Regarding the ignore button, I donât think itâs possible to make one, because you canât really ignore words on WaniKani.
Hereâs how it looks in my app:
1. You type answer 2. YOU READ IT 3a. If itâs correct, you press arrow, just like on web 3b. If itâs not correct, you edit your text and then submit it
Drop your email here. I will add you to TestFligt, so that you could test it, in few days. After I make sure that it works ok, I will submit it to AppStore.

Would also like to say that I support an ignore answer feature. When you have 250+ reviews, you donât really have the time to sit there and read each and individual kana to see if you got them right, especially since typing them out on a phone already take much more time. Also, when you mistype ă instead of ă or 㤠instead of ăŁ, etc., it isnât very easy to notice on a phone. Itâs the small things here and there that makes WaniKani on mobile annoying and I think that an ignore feature can fix some of them.Â
If you want to have an example of an ignore function you can have a look at the Android app and the userscript available. If I remember correctly, they can manage that.
Iâm currently using the old app, and would love an updated one!
I donât know how easy this would be, but I would love it if the kana keyboard popped up automtically for readings. This would be sooo much easier than the romaji-to-kana input! I make way to many typoes otherwise

I second this. I've been wanting to try to get used to the kana keyboard, but switching between the two for meanings and readings takes way too long. If you could somehow make it happen automatically, that would be amazing!
