Hello everyone this is my first time posting here. I have been using wk for 100 days now just hit level 13. I am pretty confident on kanjis that I have learned now and vocab as well (mostly at leastš). Anyways the reason why I am asking for help is Grammar. I have used BunPro for a month and learned the entire N5 but it wasnāt really efficient. I am wondering If I used it wrong. I have made up my mind to take take my first JLPT test this 2026 June-Julyish. I am going to study for N3. I am wondering how can I study for it specifically for Grammar but any advices on studying for it is appreciated as well. Oh now I realised that I own Genki 1 and 2 finished 1 but didnāt really go with 2 because self studying on genkis are painful
I know a lot of people like Bunpro but I couldnāt get it to work for me
I did use Genki, however, for grammar and it worked for me
I combined the text book with Tokini Andy https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GaQBL4XHuSo&list=PLA_RcUI8km1NMhiEebcbqdlcHv_2ngbO2
and then for convenience, using seth clyde to do the exercises Genki Exercises | Genki Study Resources
It wonāt make you good at the vocal language, but for reading and writing it will get you there
There are many other textbooks that people swear by, and Iāll let everyone else talk about them because I have no experience with them, but Genki is fine for solo learning and you could do much worse.
Thank you for the reply! I will definitely check Andiās videos as you said.
Bumping this, Tokini Andy is amazing for breaking down grammar points and building you up from Genki 1 to wherever you need to be! For seeing all the possible N3 grammar though, I recommend The Complete JLPT N3 Grammar Video(Game) Textbook by GameGengo, itāll give a quick (I say that though its 7 hrs long lmao) overview of all possible grammar points with some examples which can give either a good refresher or inventory of what you might need to know! é å¼µć£ć¦ćļ¼!(^^)!
At the moment Iām watching the Videos of Tokini Andy (again), read the Grammar Points in Genki 1&2, and then I use the cram function (Bunpro) for Genki 1&2. Iām doing Chapter by Chapter. From EN ā JP.
At First I added as much grammarpoints as possible to my Reviews, but the repetition was not enough for me, so I started to make more and more mistakes.
My Goal is to be able to recognize and remember the Grammar Points, when I Pick the next book. From JP ā EN.
Thank you for the recommendations. Definitely helped a lot!
Thank you for telling me your journey. If you donāt mind could you explain me the ācran functionā. Even though I have used bunpro I hadnāt really checked out what it actually offers.
You find the cram function when you Open the menu (3 lines on the top left) and scroll down. Then you can choose which Grammar Points you want to learn and how many flashcards per Grammar Point.
