I think she makes a pretty mature assessment that if she started seeing Nobu that of Takumi were to come to her that she wouldn’t say no to him.. but like, Hachi, we all know how you are around your boyfriends. I’m 1000% sure that would be true for like 3 weeks and then you’d be in only eyes for Nobu mode.
I also started watching the anime and I was reminded that he’s voiced by Seki Tomokazu and it makes me love him even more bc he’s the most adorable thing in the world. Pick Nobu!
No idea, but I do remember bands I listened to wearing similar weird shoes. Maybe if you searched for visual kei shoes You might also be able to find some if you found some of the street wear fashion magazines from the period.
I know how you feel!! Especially because Nana was clearly so disappointed and hurt when she saw Takumi and Hachi – and then expressed to Yasu how she felt like everything was being taken away from her. Maybe she’s being encouraging to Hachi against her better judgment because she wants to try and get over her feeling over “ownership” over Hachi. Ahhhh the emotional nuances are what makes this manga THE BEST!

I am pretty sure these are a type of the Vivienne Westwood rocking horse shoes! Nana sometimes wears the ballerina style with the same platform but ribbons around the ankles. These are (or were) really popular in EGL fashion, too!
Oof, heavy stuff. 奈々 sees タクミ like some sort of unavoidable natural disaster. No point trying to fight or avoid it, just lean in and wait for it to pass. ナナ ditching her because her career and relation with レン are doing well is trash too. Makes 奈々 embracing the ハチ仔 moniker even more bitter to me, you’re not a dog!
In turn that makes タクミ less horrendous to me than he would otherwise be. He takes 奈々 for granted and doesn’t make any effort to behave like a decent human being, but then again she doesn’t really push back at all so why would he reconsider? She’s a groupie who’s happy to be sort-of dating a famous musician, he’s doing her a service!
Now all the crying during sex should be a hint that all is not fine, maybe…
I hope that thing at the start of the chapter explaining that タクミ is capable of wanton acts of violence is not foreshadowing for even darker things to come…
Since Gitane is a real brand, it also got changed in the English version, to “Panthere”, with a cat logo. The beer 奈々 plugs, “Raffine”, apparently doesn’t exist and is unchanged. And the beer on page 171 that looks like Kirin Ichiban was also not changed, perhaps because the name isn’t completely legible.
