Hey everyone! I have a problem with the new layout because the one thing I would regularly check got removed.
In the Level Progress tab, where usually you could just see in one quick visual overview how much youve advanced each individual kanji and radical, has now been added an extra step where you need to click on the Kanji, Radical, or Vocab, to see their progress. My main problem with this is I think this was added to include the Vocab, when the old layout was just Kanjis and Radicals… However, vocab isn’t taken into account when you level up, so the old layout worked perfectly, only including the kanjis/bushu, since they are the ones you need to focus on for the level ups. On top of that, they removed the ability to simply hover over the radical/kanji to see the time of next review. This was REALLY convenient and I would always check it to see approximately how much time is left before the next review of each kanji/radical, so I could plan in advance an optimal time when I should go on wanikani to do my reviews.
I understand you can verify the time before the next review by individually clicking on each kanji/radical and scrolling to the bottom of its page, but this is really 面倒くさい considering it used to not be this way, and you would have to do it to each kanji manually just to have an idea of the best time!
I dont mind the new tab-based layout, but this lack of accessibility to verify your own progress is very troubling to me, as it removed a key feature that was very convenient.
What about you guys, have you noticed this? Does it affect your experience at all?

I think Koichi mentioned in the update thread that they were going to re-add the ability to hover over the kanji / radicals to see their due times in the new widget.
So while the old layout may not be coming back entirely, I think we can expect an update to fix the issue you mentioned in the next few month.
I am missing that hover over feature for tracking the progress too
You are very much not alone in this. In fact, many users here have been finding ways to (constructively) criticise in hopes these features can return and/or be more thoughtfully considered- and the WK staff has been very receptive to the feedback, even inviting it directly.
Along with generally being very involved/informed on this all- @sanshoo informed me (and quite a few others in a similar position) that the WK team is taking feedback via email at hello@wanikani.com , so if you would like to really line out your thoughts to a direct audience- that would be a great way to ensure your voice on the matter is heard.
I say keep it up because just like you I am really missing my hover-Kanji, find the extra clicks annoying, and think the non-dashboard UI changes are near exclusively a direct downgrade- and any gathering to help restore what was lost is something I like to see.
I think I will celebrate the return of the hover feature moreso than passing level 60 or N1, and I wish I was joking.. . Getting level 60 seems easier to achieve at this point (no)
The more I go without it, the more I certainly am missing it.. Really, really hope I don’t have to spend the rest of my WK journey with it as only a memory
I am working on a new version of the script Dashboard Progress Plus which includes the old dashboard look and feel for kanji and radicals. When I get it ready it should solve your issue.
