This dude makes videos about learning Japanese + gaming. How? In every way imaginable.
Check him out. He’s EXTREMELY based.

Yeah, his videos are very well made and educational! I like when he goes through the first hour of a video game and translates everything for example, or the videos where he even has the definitions of all the words and parts of the sentence on the screen. Or the “best video games to learn japanese with” videos.
The kansai-ben video was also great. I knew a few of these expressions, but also learned a lot of new ones, and he had multiple examples/scenes for each from games.
Now that’s exactly my type of content, thank you!
Thanks for sharing! I’m an avid gamer, so I’m sure this is gonna come in handy for some immersion.
I only just discovered this guy pretty recently and I have to say the content is pretty good.
There’s an absolutely mental 5 hour subbed video of the first Metal Gear Solid game that just blew my mind.
Omg yes I’m so happy seeing some Game Gengo love here! Legit my favourite youtube channel, first time I have ever actually enjoyed learning grammar. I’m going to become a patreon soon, I feel like I kind of owe it considering how incredibly much that channel has helped me
What are the perks?
To joining the patreon? If that’s what you were referring to, you get to join the discord, which sometimes affects which videos Matt works on the future and all that, and also get early access to videos. If you choose the highest tier you get your name mention in the end credits and desciptions, but that’s not really something I personally care about.
I’d say the biggest perk is actually just getting to support the channel though. He works very hard on the videos, but can’t afford going full time yet, the patreon helps with that. Think he’s still rather far from the goal amount to be able to do that, but maybe in a year or two he gets there! Personally I just want to become a patreon as a little thank you for how much the videos have helped me '
I might join just because of the discord. I’m trying to maximize the amount of communities I’m in, so if I have questions I don’t need to bother the same people repeatedly.
That’s pretty smart. May perhaps we’ll meet in the server then ^^
The Discord community is very friendly and quite active (especially recently).
Because of the Patreon, Matt works one fewer day per week than he did previously (and spends the time making videos instead).
