Maximum number of reviews possible in a day?

Hey guys, Im still relatively new to WaniKani (all hail the crabigator) and I’ve been working on it consistently for a month now. I’m on level four.

My problem is, I’m not leveling up as fast as I want. I have like 95% accuracy and it’s all really easy and known to me. I do my reviews every day as soon as I see them (usually within the hour of them coming out), but my maximum I’ve had in a day is only 160.

Is there any way to get more reviews, or level up faster? Thanks guys

alas, there is not. since most levels have two groups of kanji (those available at level start, and those that become available when you guru level’s radicals), and it takes maybe a little more than three and a half days to guru an item if you review it as soon as possible, leveling up is designed to take about a week at the least. (since 60 weeks is about a year and two months, this is the source of the “just over a year” copy on the WK main page.)

The SRS interval for apperentice is usuallly a week, so if levelling up is what you aiming for, then focusing on guru’ing the apperentice is the way to go. Theres also a setting in WK that sorts the reviews so that apparentice items are sorted first.

Read up the WK tutorials for more info such as how to unlock new lessons

But if more reviews you want, then you just have to do more lessons, add them to the review pile, and slowly go through em. You can do more than the alloted 10 per day, Heck, theres a post here in the forum about someone getting to level 60 in 1 year, roughly 1 level a week. Plus overtime, items in the master / enlightened should be back in rotation for you to review, hopefully burning them in the process.

Mad lads in question:

However, that being said. I do not reccomend at all rushing through the flashcards.. Especially pass level 15-ish (known difficulty plateu), as by that point the flashcards gets more abstract and harder to recalled, causing enlightened items to drop to apparentice, wasting 4 months of wait, and becoming “leeches”.

I do not know what your level of proficiency is, your JLPT level, how dedicated you are to learning JP, nor if you have any other sources of learning JP. But for WK specifically, i recc to set a review goal (like 80 reviews per day), only do 10 new lessons when the review forecast is low, and build a habit of consistently doing your reviews daily. Better to set a good habit early on and consistently stick to it, than blazing pass the first 10 levels, only to give up at level 11 cuz “i cant remember anything, i give up, this sucks”

That will over grow over time and then you will end up with hundreds to thousands of reviews if you keep doing all lessons that you get at once so be mindful about that.

i hear this frequently but i have yet to experience it… i do frequently have a hundred or more reviews daily, but never more than two hundred-ish?

i guess i’d like to better understand the mechanism where these reviews are coming from? i have yet to have an opportunity to burn an item, but even then it seems like those aren’t going to add a ton of work, since they’re a one last visit from an item, spaced by the same mechanism that spaces all the other cards.

am i missing something?
