WK sentences are made by the WK team, which includes Japanese natives.
you mean like thsis? 猫+食べる - Jisho.org
Please copy and paste me a link.
yes
yes I am aware of this but doing this defeats the purpose of the srs. and would be a lot more rviews.
once you burn an item in wanikani , it caps. then un burning it resets it back to an immediate review follow by hourly reviews. but if it didn’t cap it would mean my next review would be in maybe 8 months or maybe even a year or 2. and if I got it right again I might not have to review it for 5 years and It would be in my head for about 5 years until I’m about to forget it. where as resetting in wankani means hundreds of unnecessary reviews.
Are you sure about that? Can you please link me to where this was mentioned? I think I remember seeing there sentences posted somewhere else, although it might of been coppied from Wanikani? I will have a look 1 sec
I guess this is enough to prove it ![]()
You just need to go to the Japanese only section of the forums to see the Japanese natives that are part of the staff.
「今すぐ薬物をやめろ!」とさけびながら、コウイチはビエトの鼻を人さし指で指した。
Koichi screamed, “Stop doing drugs right now!” and pointed at Viet’s nose with his index finger.
pretty sure
How does this prove that all sentences are from the wanikani team?
It doesn’t, just having a little fun. I’m pretty sure that they do make them themselves though.
That’s not an answer that your asumption ![]()
It is a fact that WaniKani makes their own sentences.
yes I am aware of that
thanks
Oh you just wanted proof that those sentences are written by natives?

Please look at the following
Please re read what you wrote. [quote=“seanblue, post:29, topic:31458, full:true”]

what you wrote doesn’t mean this
all sentances on wanikani are made by the wanikani team.
the way you worded it does not state that they are the only ones to of made sentences. you assume way to much that you miss the point I made which is. how do you know wanikani makes all there own sentences?
You can just ask them.
@anon20839864 are all the sentences written by the staff? Are they all written by native speakers?
Ok if that’s the case please refer to this link, as it seems like your sentences have been taken by the The Japan Foundation website. The Japan Foundation: Anime and Manga Phrases - AnkiWeb
An old version of WK is up on ankiweb too. A collection of all radicals, kanji, and vocab (from some time ago).
please read what is written as you will see that this is
Description
All taken from this Nihongo no Baka post: Loading.... Just thought I’d share it with the rest of the world! Originally from The Japan Foundation: http://www.anime-manga.jp/.
now if you click the first link
you will see this
Some time ago, The Japan Foundation created a website to help Japanese students learn the type of Japanese that is often heard in anime and manga. While it’s got some decent content, I’ve rarely ever heard anyone mention the site. That’s probably because they stuck all of the content into a crappy flash application. You can’t view it on mobile, you can’t copy and paste text, you can’t resize it, you can’t do ANYTHING useful.
So, I dumped some of their content into Anki decks so that it would be possible to actually learn something from it. I have made a deck containing phrases, and a deck with grammar points. This is only a portion of the total content from the site, but I felt that these parts would probably be the most useful and work the best in a flashcard format.
which links you to here where wanikanis sentances are found. http://www.anime-manga.jp/
I’m not sure if there making money of wanikanis sentances or not? and I’m not sure if that’s allowed?
But anyway, it’s kind of moot in terms of disputing the validity of the WK sentences, because unless you think they don’t actually have natives on the staff, everything is at least being checked for its naturalness before being put up, even if they didn’t personally write it.
I never once said they didn’t. I just asked how do you know this to be true? and if you can link me to somewhere you read this? did you read it somewhere? or did a member of stuff tell you? or is there another reason you know this?
It’s just common sense, what is WK employing natives for if they don’t at least check the content? Tatoeba, on the other hand, is just a database of sentences anyone can contribute to, regardless of their knowledge.
