Congrats to both the full-burners.
Yikes–I absolutely hated half of level 13’s vocabulary. So many words with different combinations of “feeling” and “emotion,” and so many words that just did not stick out as memorable to me at all. I usually love doing the vocab and seeing the ways the words fit together after learning the kanji, and especially finally figuring out the kanji that make up words I know from before.
I’m about to be level 15 and considering taking a 1 week break to review stuff since I’ll be a quarter way through the levels.
Also, just in my own personal life, I am so busy but still carving out the necessary time for this, but failing to really put any time in to grammar, which I know so little of. I also think I should really start working on some kind of reverse-kanji learning.

Hi, folks! I’m Onryu, and I’m new to WaniKani! I started March 15, and I’m currently on level 3. I know it’s unlikely I’ll get to level 60 by the end date, but I want to use this thread to keep myself motivated on the path. By the time this thread ends, I’m going to hopefully be level 40 or so, and have completely all of Genki.
I’m going to join 木星 because I like trees and shit.

Wasn’t that level 14? Whatever it was, it was brutal. I’m at 28 now and that was my least favorite level fi that makes you feel any better.

Continuing to just amble along here. Accuracy has improved after again after my long break for musical (that was canceled). Started KaniWani to further improve vocab, also working on other stuff. I’ve got about 150 apprentice items. By the time I knock them out I think I’ll be solid to start running again.
Do others like these little updates? If so, let me know! How are you all doing?

I’ve been doing the little updates too, because I have a lot of thoughts about wanikani and I am positive that no one else I know in real life wants to hear about it.

Hmm, I am a chunk of the way through 14, and I think you’re right-- it is similar to what I was feeling in 13 w/ lots of similar conceptual nouns. In 13 I felt like the first chunk had a lot of “feelings” words that stopped me from getting going, but once I did, it was fine after that. 14… has a lot of varieties of “wish,” “desire,” “heart’s desire,” etc… I’m not too mad about it, because every langugae has lots of synonyms, but I’ll probably never figure out the differences in context or usage, so…
But my motivation remains to keep learning. I’ll try to do some grammar this weekend…

Hahahaha. Yes, I’m like, I’m spending 30-60 minutes a day doing this thing that literally no one else in my life cares about. The most I can do is make my (Japanese) husband laugh by telling him the ridiculous words I am learning.

Hi guys!
I decided to join this race, finally! I’m particiating in the Dec JLPT 2020 race already but it’s not possible to make it to 60 until then. So here I am, proclaiming boldly that i fucking will make it to 60 by the time this thread ends! I’ve slacked a bit on level 12, but 60 is still within reasonable reach!
I started WK in Dec '19 and my average speed right now is 9-10 days.
I choose 火星 because I googled astrology personality traits (that I don’t believe in) associated with mars and it fits to an alarming degree. Girl boss! Also I liked Sailor Mars the best back then when Sailor Moon was on TV in my 子供の時s, lol.
I am living in Japan for the next 2ish years doing research so I better use this opportunity and get my Japanese to a good conversational level! Ganbatte!

Joined the race! I went from 1 to 3 in about week. I hope the structure of the app and community will allow me to study easier. My goal is 60 though it seems if I stay on top of it I will hit 60 sometime in February/March so I have a bit of wiggle room.
I plan on taking the JLPT N2 this coming December.
