Well, it’s technically the way samurai say goodbye. It’s supposed to have some gravitas (even though it’s mostly used as a joke nowadays)

Oh, yes, it can work based on context. It’s just that then you loose the ironical element

Also as an aside, I just thought I’d point out, in case someone missed it that 嫌な予感しかしない (or 嫌な予感がする) is basically how you say “I have a bad feeling about this” in Japanese
It’s one of those things that, once I learned it, has started to pop up everywhere.
I would love to participate sooo much, but I already watched Little Nightmares and remember it too well for me to watch it again

Ah, I meant, like, when he sees the petrified people in the medusa room, the little triangle shaped buddy in the next room, he was Always like ‘tomodachi ka?’ and I just noticed that xp Perhaps, now that I think of it, it only happened two times, but it felt like a lot to me xp
Took about 1.5 hrs to watch, with subtitles on. I definitely understood all of it, but not in any sort of timely manner… oh well, c’est la vie.
I was surprised when he noticed the cigarette butts on the couch. I didn’t see them until I looked for them specifically! He’s also good at puzzle-solving, much more than I could ever hope to be. しょうがないねぇ。
I really admire his patience as well.
Probably more visible in other videos: in Machinarium he often spends a long time (to the point of time-lapsing or cutting) trying to figure out the various puzzles.
At times in Abe’s Oddysee he’d try the same thing a million times, think he succeeded, fail then cut to 30 minutes later when he finally did it.
All the while being as cheerful as always
Finally getting a chance to watch~ I don’t know if I’ll be able to finish it in one setting but…I will try. xD
