Anyway, there is Self Study Script. There might be a web app somewhere. Otherwise, Item Inspector + export, then import to Anki (or you might drill without Anki, like left column - right column - covering the left).
I appreciate your answer. In my original question I included that I am not a young person, so I actually donât know what âItem inspector + exportâ even means and I assume being old is also off-putting for answering the question. I did look at Anki and donât understanding how to connect that to Wanikani. Thank you for replying. That was very kind.
If you just want to practice kanji and not vocabulary, you can do that with the self-study userscript. You can even set it to only show kanji from certain levels or srs stages. If you havenât installed a userscript yet, I recommend reading this post.
thank you. I got as far as installing tampermonkey, which is on, and the script. But there is no option for âscriptsâ when I press the little whatever that animal is on my profile.
Did you also install open framework? Thatâs necessary for this and a lot of other scripts to run. The self study option will be located in the âopenâ option after clicking on your profile.
Do you know why this script does not show up when I open scripts in Wanikani? The other two I installed show upâbut this does not even though it shows as enabled in the dashboard.
I have installed all the scripts correctly, but limit self study does not show up under my profile.
Someone also responded with this: Iâm not familiar with the Limit Self Study script. But Self-Study Quiz does have the ability to only do kanji by going into the settings, creating a new Items preset, turning on the Item Type filter, and checking Kanji.
However, I do not see where to create a new items preset. I know how I sound in these messages. I am sorry I sound dumb. I would like to be able to fix my problems and use the scripts. Thank hyou.
You donât sound dumb for asking questions. Weâre here to help you. Can you post screenshots of what you see? That makes it easier to see what weâre working with. This is what it should look like:
You may have to reload your dashboard once for the scripts to show up. Once youâve opened the quiz, settings for it are in the top right corner. My cursor isnât visible in the screenshot, but it will say configure presets when you hover over it.
Then in the items tab, under filters, select item type, then select kanji.
Once you click save at the bottom right, the quiz will reload with your selected items.
OMG I think that is it!!! I must have missed the part where I hover over the blank area and wait for the menu to appear. Iâm very self conscious of not being excellent at technology and hate to ask for help. Iâm so, so grateful. Thank you thank you so much!!! Iâm just ecstatic I can drill these old kanjiâŠ
SoâŠis there a way to then look up what I missed, or re-review? Or it just is a drill only with no other functionality (whatever this is, is fine. it works).
Iâm glad I was able to help After you review all items in your queue, it will show you a list of items you missed, and then give you an option to review them again.
Got it!! Thank you so much again. So so appreciative.
So I have another question. I set all the limitsâkanji only, burned items only. But the quiz gives me about 1500 possible kanji. But on the front page of my Wanikani, it tells me I have only burned about 779 kanji (I am level 37). Why do I have so many items in the quiz, if I have only burned 770 something kanji?
Never mindâI realized I can hand add in certain levels for drilling. I have to sayâIâm really really disappointed by how bad my retention is for âburnedâ levels. This entire process feels so pointless.
What are you doing outside of wanikani? If you donât use what youâve learnt, you will lose it. Doesnât mean your memory is bad.
