One day, whenever David Sansome decides to make it official. Only he, the creator, can make that happen.
As for building, if you have a Mac with enough space to download Xcode (expect 10GB) and want to do it, do so and then follow the instructions in the README on GitHub. If you decide you want to and have questions, let me know!
Greetings! I perused the feature request list on your repo and did not see it, so forgive me if itâs a dupe.
When a burn review is present on screen, I would like an option to display an icon (perhaps a flame icon or similar) in a corner of the window to indicate that it is a final review.
Iâm still a month off from any burns, but the option would enable me to intentionally answer incorrectly if I am lacking confidence on the answer that comes to mind. Since burning âremovesâ the item from the queue, Iâd like to ensure that those items wonât be lost on me shortly after (by ensuring my recall is appropriately fast for a burned item).
Ah, there was a setting for current SRS level. This will certainly work for my purposes, albeit being able to only target burns is still something desirable for me (though itâs importance is extremely low since this feature exists). Thank you.
Thanks for the suggestion; ultimately, the reason why both of these suggestions arenât the ideal scenario for me is that they both provide undesirable SRS context to my review session for lower than enlightened items. To label it as a personal problem isnât inaccurate, but even on a larger screen I can see the review state in the peripheral vision on the text line.
If I cannot make the distinction between two similar-looking Kanji, one being new while the other is relatively old, the SRS indicator gives me an unwanted hint. Granted, this would obviously occur at the burn level with my request, but at the burn level the beauty of the SRS should alleviate the concerns of having the icon present.
The concept of sorting my reviews by SRS is similar in this regard, where I feel that the randomness and possible mixing of similar looking Kanji at random SRS intervals more closely resembles the goal of being able to read and comprehend full texts.
There was a recent request for burn re-reviews that we might implement so that you can have a separate review for previously burned items after a few months of them being burned, so that if you fail, you can resurrect the item to Apprentice again.
For anyone watching, thereâs been some new proposed changes to Tsurukame. Hereâs what may be coming next:
This pull request should:
Fix #10 by adding a minor level-up animation and summary
Fix #49 by hiding parts of an answer during reviews that havenât been attempted yet, and the last answered review pop-up will now be shown for half-answered reviews due to this being fixed.
Fix #365 by adding support for multiple SRS systems
This PR also changes the user-displayed name of âAllow Cheatingâ to âIgnore Typos & Add Synonymsâ since skipping reviews clearly is âcheatingâ but isnât part of this setting.
It also partially addresses #257 - adds stats section, but doesnât add resurrect feature
Could I put in a request to separate the reveal buttons for meaning and reading? Sometimes I just forget the meaning, but still want to take a stab at the reading without accidentally peeking. Thanks.
Any way I can add personal notes per item like on the website? sometimes I come up with better sayings than the website for me and want to record them.
Awesome app. Makes me able to fight through the pain
Wait until the app is updated! For now, do your reviews in a web browser when you hit that word. At least you should guru it quickly now! The same thing happened a while ago when a radikal was moved.
