Thank you! I must have just missed it, as I updated on my ipad and installed the beta on my iphone sometime earlier on Sunday, I guess.
Works now! I don’t think I’ll ever get that radical wrong again.

Hi @davidsansome - I hope you are safe and well in these volatile times! Just one question, where would you like us to raise bugs for Tsurukame? Is it ok for me to put details here or on the iOS Apps store? Thank you! (Amazing work on this app btw, it’s a real life-saver).
In the first post.
Thanks

Not sure “in the first post” was really necessary though, just twisting the blade of shame around at that point!
I tried but Discourse would not let me post just a quote ![]()
Just add random really long tags

I’d love to try the MacOS version of tsurukame. Do I need to build it myself, following the instructions in the readme? Are there more detailed instructions anywhere I could look at, or a download?
@jeff8v7 Yes, you’re going to have to build it yourself. The instructions in the README are pretty straightforward nowadays, but let me know if you have questions, since I just updated them! ![]()
I’m having a weird issue that seems to be tied to Tsurukame. I keep having the “hills” radical come up for review and when I answer correctly it says “master” but then it comes up again in my next review. On the WK site it shows “hills” is Guru level and doesn’t even show it for review. Right now I caught up all my reviews on WK but when I go back to Tsurukame it says I have 1 review and it is again “hills”. Any suggestions?
FYI - I also emailed WK about this and they got back to me with the following info:
“We recently moved the ‘hills’ radical from level 8 to 29, so that might be why it’s causing the issue. Tsurukame is a third party app though so you’ll have to reach out to the app developer and let them know about this change and hopefully they’ll be able to fix your bug!”
Pretty sure a fix is underway on this already. A few people reported it earlier to the tsurukame team…
The good news is we’ll never forget the hills radical!
Haha… that is definitely true! ![]()
Yay… No hills that time! Thank you! ![]()
I tried to find an email so I could thank David - but this app is incredible and gets better and better. In particular I LOVE the auto-switch to kana keyboard that was introduced recently.
Two really small things about the app:
I do find this app fantastic as it shows me all the relevant data I need. And it’s fast. Much appreciated.
Those are some good thoughts! Renaming “allow cheating” will be addressed at:
As for the last review item, I don’t see that as a problem. Just type it in to the search bar. However, the part about half-answered reviews in the PR linked in this post should help. ![]()
Depending on your culture, the word ‘cheating’ can have different connotations. Like some would reserve the word ‘cheat’ for something that stains your honor as a human being. Others use it much more casually, like calling a list of useful things a ‘cheat sheet’. I imagine the developer was thinking of it in that way.
For anyone who might have been trying the Apple Watch TestFlight, and are coming here to complain that it expired, use the official TestFlight. You can find it at the GitHub link in the first post!
Are there plans for the macOS version to be a regular install for those of us that don’t know how to build things? That would be soooo nice.
