When i visited the advanced lessons section today, I noticed that i have a vocabulary lesson for a word from level 13 while I’m still in level 8.

They played around with the “cardinal direction” words I believe, they changed the readings and the level ordering. That may explain why

This update indeed says that 北海道 moved up to level 13.

I see, so it should be expected to be unlocked for me in this case?
fwiw, I hadn’t learned that word yet, even before it was moved.

This is the same for me. Even the word is the same.
So I suppose this is what happens when you’ve unlocked a word and they move it around!

Yeah once you unlock something then it stays unlocked when they move it. You can even use the lesson picker to learn those items early
