I can't get the meaning of 行き in this phrase

Hi! As the title says, I don’t really get the meaning of 行き in this phrase: 行きもかえりもあるくつもりです

行き is the stem of 行く so it means “going”. かえり is the stem of かえる so it means “coming home”. So all together, 行きもかえりも basically means “going and coming home”. Adding in the rest of the sentence makes it “I plan to walk both when going and when coming home”.

Hope that helps!

Thanks for breaking it down to the kanji! The problem with WK is that now I recognize the kanji, but not the kana representation in a sentence :weary:

For @OP ichi.moe looks like it did a decent job of the sentence breakdown.
