How to start N3?

I think I learned all N4 grammar parts, vocabulary and kanji, and I wonder how to start N3?

I have WaniKani level 28 and completed anki core 2k words deck, should I start a 6k deck or just absorb more words naturally? Also I heard that N3 is about understanding correct using of the words, how to train that? And finally what is good immersion material for N3?

our journeys sound pretty different so far, but I’ll share what I did. I earned a B1 N3 pass this past December after Duolingo (lol) gave me a score that suggested N3 was in reach.

  1. I started WaniKani in August. I figured kanji was my weakest point at the time.

  2. I got Quartet 1 and a book of N3 practice tests.

  3. I read one volume of each of the Tadoku graded reader series.

  4. I took a night class for Japanese on Zoom. (Hence Quartet)

  5. Towards the end I joined the ABBC

Of these, I think WK and Tadoku made the most dramatic difference. You’re already further than me in WK, so in my opinion you actually technically don’t need to focus on anything that’s SRS based. Just read stuff that feels good and push your reading comfort zone so that more stuff will start to feel good.
