How should i continue my japanese journey?

I started learning japanese about 3 months ago, i am completely self studying and so far i’ve managed to finish Genki 1 completely with all vocab and grammar and Tokini Andy videos, i’m almost finished with genki 2 and i am currently reading through my second japanese manga from the ABBC. For me reading the ABBC books is pretty easy as i can understand most unknown grammar out of context and i’ve already bought Quartet 1 for N3. Should i start Quartet 1 right away or at first stick with only WaniKani, book clubs and anki? And is Quartet 1 sufficient for reaching N3? I am not planning to take the N3, but it would still be nice to know. And when should i start watching Netflix with tools like migaku? And is there a list of grammar points of N3 that are not being covered by the Quartet books?

Hello!
Wow only 3 months and done with Genki 1 and almost Genki 2? Impressive speed.
I haven’t attempted N3 so I can’t say if Quartet 1 is enough, I think it could be, but not by itself, you will need reading and listening practice.
You can check bunpro to look up the grammar points:
List of the grammar points from Quartet 1: Quartet I [Grammar] | Bunpro
List of all the grammar points: Grammar Points | Bunpro (scroll down to see only N3)
If you have time for it, I would say that starting Quartet now doesn’t hurt

Yeah i was able to go that fast because of a lot of boredom during holidays. And i’ve made sure to study every single day for at least an hour, even if i wasn’t in the mood, because consistency is key with japanese i think. So far i am using the anki genki decks to keep all of these 1000+ genki vobab in my memory, has been working well so far! I will probably slow a bit down with Quartet though, because i really feel like i should spend more time with native material. And i don’t know wether i need to know more kanji than WK Lvl9 for Quartet. Thanks for answering!

As you say consistency is key
Quartet is going to present you some kanji but I would keep doing Wanikani, found it had great value until level 45 at least. (after that it’s debatable, of course every word is worth knowing but time and money can invested differently depending on how much you have available)

btw i read a little bit of your study log and saw that you were using a lot of bunpro for grammar, would you recommend to start bunpro N3 too or would that maybe be a bit too much?

You can also check my level 60 post, wrote in details how I used each resource  From 0 to Reading Everyday: Step by Step and Comprehensive List of Resources
I stopped using Bunpro SRS at around mid-N3, but instead I’ve read every entry one by one, found it very useful!

I thought of maybe going through the bunpro N5 and N4 entries to see if i forgot or missed anything crucial. Will definitely take a look at your lvl60 post, I hope that i won’t give up at some point and reach level 60 one day too, i’m also trying to learn game development and it’s pretty hard balancing the time between japanese and game development. Thanks for all the helpful advice!

I see! Good luck with all of your studies! Maybe you can combine them somehow and see tutorials in Japanese about game development

As you say, consistency is key, so if you have a good habit using textbooks, I don’t see any reason not to continue with textbooks into the intermediate level. Eventually you’ll have to branch out, but you’re already doing that with your manga, etc.

It seems to me like you’ve got good momentum, trust your instincts and keep on keeping on!

You should probably challenge yourself with iTalki lessons or something to see where you’re actually at. Speed running things and thinking you understand vs what you actually understand and can reproduce is a really important part of the process. I’ve personally gone through the Genki books a couple times each with and without a tutor.

Quartet 1 will get you to N3, but you’re risking off biting off more than you can chew from how I see it. Could be off base and wrong, but that’s just my little warning.
