So sometimes, I end up reading manhwa instead of manga.
And since most transalated Manhwa is usually in english and I end up reading a lot of manhwa in a day.So In order to procrastinate productively(oxymoron) I decided to start reading manhwa in japanese.
You can get Fan transalations of manhwa’s in webtoon and pair it with an ocr to read manhwa easily.
It doesn’t work like mokuro where it parses through every text and, manhwa’s and bookwalker manga’s dont allow people to parse through the books. Game2text is the solution for that. It is free and gamegengo recommended it for games but it goes much beyond that.
Game2text can be used for visual novel’s, Games , Manga and Manhwa.
If you want official translations of manhwa to japanese, there is Piccoma. It’s like tapas/webtoon/etc with WUF, coins, etc etc that’s vaguely predatory, but it does allow you to read most things for free if you’re patient. It also has webnovels, light novels, and manga albeit the chapters are cut into smaller chunks.
The catch is it’s location locked. If you try and sign up on the website you need to verify via japanese SMS where as the app bypasses that (possibly because you need to get it from the Japanese app store in the first place…or via QooApp). Once registered the website can be used fine so long as you have a VPN set to japan, and any OCR overlay should work I’d think.
Edit: There’s a possibility I’m remembering it backwards. Either way, if the app doesn’t work then try registering via the website while on VPN.
By the way there is manhwa (in Japanese) and manga on the Comico website. No VPN needed to view the Comico website and it’s super easy to set an account on there as well.
Manhwa tends to be in all color and Japanese manga in black in white so clicking on a title and scrolling through the chapters you’ll be able to see that.
