I got this sticker at a buddhist temple in kyoto and I can’t read all the kanji.
I’ve successfully identified the middle as 厄除十手 観音 which should translate to some kannon protecting from misfortune although google translate says differently?
The other parts I don’t really get, on the left it says something with Kyoto (what exactly?) and then the temple name, 愛宕念仏寺.
But I really can’t read the stuff on the right… Anybody who can identify this?
If I have to take a guess it’s 嵯峨野めぐりの始発点 (さがのめぐりのしはつてん).
Ah, that’s on my list of places I’d like to go. Is it a nice place? Worth visiting? ![]()
Yes, totally! It was completely empty when I was there because they charge admission, and it’s worth visiting for the buddha statues. I haven’t seen another temple with this many statues afterwards.
It’s also nice to be able to take in the atmosphere on your own and take a mat to sit down inside the temple, but maybe I was just lucky with the timing.
