So, @d-hermit, after KyokaJiro confirmed what I was saying all along I wanted to thank you for the cooperative, openminded and understanding manner with which you turned down my opinion. It’s a real joy to meet people like you.
Oh ok, I’ll hold off on contacting them then. Still, I’m really sorry, I thought it was just a silly game or treasure hunt. Didn’t mean to butt in needlessly!!!
When I contacted Tofugu folks and started this, I wanted this to be a gift for a joyous occasion. I just thought people were playing around, by the time I got back to the thread people started getting upset.
Please do not blame Tofugu folks. They have been extra kind and went out of their way to accommodate my selfish request. So, please do not blame them. They are AWESOME people.
Hey Kyoka, I was watching the whole thing as it suddenly spiraled out of control - and I’m truly sorry, that all of this happened. I tried to stop it, but sadly came too late. It may have been a lack of security on Tofugu’s side, but I also think that certain users with the password could have handled it more responsibly. Any way, I want to focus on the fact, how amazing it is, that you did this. It really put a smile on my face this evening and I was struggling to process how something this nice and selfless could be happening. You’re really something special, thank you for this action. I hope you’re not too sad about how the Secret Santa was revealed so quickly and yeah, just thank you for being you.
What a disastrous way to do a giveaway. To give something away to a select group of people, this method was piss poor. No fault of @KyokaJiro, I’m sure they assumed the crew at Tofugu would do it right.
Everyone, can we all please just take a breather? It’s supposed to be a nice gesture, I’m sure nobody had bad intentions (actually I think they had exact opposite). There’s no need to throw shade at anyone here.
Even though I am one of the upset folks, it is still a cool thing! And I can be satisfied that I DID figure out the password (Thanks, Jisho!). Don’t let my sour grapes ruin your joy in pulling off a very neat surprise.
