Hi all
Anyone aware of any planned discounts towards the end of the year? Times are tight, and these really do help.
cheers
Hi all

Have you tried renshuu? If money’s tight at the moment you should try that. It teaches grammar, vocab, and kanji. That also have decks made from the users.
In highsight I would’ve used that if I couldn’t afford wanikani.
I believe there’s an end of year discount for lifetime membership, probably around the holidays.
Renshuu is great, you can study a lot of stuff even for free. The UI is not for everyone, but I would say it is really good when you cannot afford anything extra.
End of the year discount will be only for lifetime, for 100 eur (if my memory is correct). I believe there are no discounts for monthly/yearly plans.
Wanikani usually has a Winter Sale on Lifetime Memberships in late December. Usually around December 17 or 20 or so, typically lasting until around December 31.
in some of the old lifetime sales I sometimes see users that eventually made it to 60, and some that did not and I’m always curious as to what either group is doing now. But neither is around anymore, so who really knows? Especially curious about users who made it to 60 but are gone a long time ago, did they eventually make it to fluency? Do they live in Japan? Whats it like to be part of the group that made it to the end?
Anyway, looking forward to this sale. Its a bit pricey, but nothing else has helped get the Kanji to stick thus far, and I don’t care about grammar websites because I already have textbooks and textbooks dont require subscriptions so they are cheaper.
Same. I’ve reached the end of the free trial and the teachings are sticking with me (for the most part), can’t afford the current prices so waiting on a sale.
Do we get notified of the sale through email?
Probably email, banners, and you’ll notice several purples on the forum.
I bought Wanikani lifetime last year. They did a presale which was announced in the forum, and I think (but not sure) there was an email announcement. I had bought an annual membership, and the remainder of the yearly membership was refunded. My receipt for Lifetime was from December 11.
I go fairly slowly (7 lessons per day) so it makes a lot of sense for me. For your question about living in Japan, I don’t but almost certainly will in a few years, as my husband is Japanese and his company will transfer him back to Japan in a few years.
Based on last year. It happened around 24 Dec to the start of Jan.
Yes, they’ll send out the marketing email for the sale period.
the sale is active now
