After a few years break (like probably 4-5) I decided to go at it again, and I find that while a lot of my burned items are still burned in my mind, I have difficulty recalling specific vocabulary pieces, pronunciations, meanings, etc.
I had reached lvl 8 back in the days, but before even resuming to that level I wanted to make sure I re-aquire fully my knowledge back to it.
While I’ve used the extra-study sessions, I find it cumbersome to not be able to pick exactly what I’d like to review, or to pick only select levels to review.
Is there a way to do so, or are my only choices to reset my level or study manually through each level page?
Simply click on ‘Advanced’ and it’ll show you by Levels all the Radicals, Kanjis, and Vocabulary that you have to review. You can then click on the ones you want to review. Welcome back
Thank you but I don’t think this covers my question. Where ideally I’d like to create a custom review session with burned items.
Let’s say I currently have 200 burned ones, I’d like to review only lvl 1 burned items. Instead of having to review 200 of them. I don’t think this is feasible at the moment, but I might be wrong.
There is the Item List filter you can install individually to augment the list of filters.
You can also use Burned Items and level in combination to have all burned items for a given level. You can also add the Item Type filter to the combination to have only the vocabulary.
Yeah, I’ve been reading these posts but I’ve never read one that said something like, ‘Here it is for final downloading, install version x from greasyfork.’ It’s been more like, try this, insert this into the code, no it didn’t (did) work for me, etc. Then there’s also WKOF (expanded filters???) that’s supposed to work with WKOF…don’t know, don’t understand. I don’t even know which of these ‘fixes’ you’re referring to.
Rather than mess up what I can do (limited as it is), I decided to wait for @rfindley to find time to fix his SSQ…AT HIS CONVENIENCE!
The problem is when you programmers rattle off all these fixes, it’s like Level 1 to you, but Level 60 to others, like me! I imagine even some Level 20s/30s might have a problem with doing everything exactly right on the first try.
But thanks for pointing this out and for doing (all you programmers) all this to help out the community!!!
Thank you SO MUCH for laying this out for me!!! Your script has SO MUCH to offer, but therein lies the problem for me.
I only use @rfindley Double-Check and SSQ. For DC, all I did was install it and use it, i.e., no learning curve AT ALL! For SSQ, it used to be where I go to settings and click on drop down menus to select vocab, kanji or radical; select the Level(s) I want and start my review.
But for II, I have to create a separate table for EVERY configuration of reviews that I want and then if I don’t download certain font tables, I have to go to every table and deselect some font option or I get a message that it won’t work…and who knows what else I need to do because the learning curve is massive with all the instructions you listed.
Believe me, there is a part of me that is so tempted to do it because you have so much to offfer. But I just don’t feel like I have to time to learn all the ins and outs of your script to make full use of it. Plus, I would have to relearn it over and over again because I probably wouldn’t use it often enought to remember everything.
Even though I’m not going to use your script, I thank you (and ALL the programmers out there) for all the work you do for us!
