Many years ago, in the good old year of 1969, man first took a step on our very own personally orbiting space rock. As part of the Apollo program, 12 people have stood on the surface of the moon, with the last one being in 1972.
Now here we are in 2025, with a new program planned to take humans back to the moon with the goal of establishing a long term presence there, along with achieving milestones such as the first woman and person of colour to step foot on its surface. This mission is a stepping stone to journey further, hopefully allowing for longer missions to Mars, and who knows what else beyond that.
Artemis I took place in 2022, sending the Orion spacecraft into orbit around the moon before coming back home. Artemis II is planned for 2026, a manned test flight of Orion, before finally in 2027, the Artemis III mission is planned to be the first human moon landing since 1972. This is planned for mid 2027 at the earliest, soooo letās all try reach level 60 in 2027!
