the summary is absolutely essential for tracking performance!, it should be enablable at least.
Hi WK,
The rest of your changes are pretty cool, but the summary page…It just needs to stay. It’s like the hot shower after the grueling workout. Healing steam.
The summary was very helpful for me mentally - letting me know the overall percentage correct especially, because that lets me know what kind of headspace I’m in. I usually get 80-90% correct. If it’s lower, it lets me know something iffy is going on. If it’s higher, it makes me feel really good.
Please add it back, thanks.
Agreed.
I always went through all the words i missed at the end. And now they’re cluttered in randomly with other words i missed in other lessons because of a typo.
It’s a massive loss. Please revert

New summary script that works well!
awesome, thanks for the share
Oh my god thank you
I finished my first round of reviews with the Wanikani Review Summary script (linked a few replies above). The first time it takes a while to load everything, then after you are finished and thrown back to front page it 1) shows you the percentage 2) if you click the percentage, it shows you all the info that used to be on the review page in a popup window. It works great, kudos to the creator!
If you find issues with the review summary on the dashboard script, let me know in
It’s not a particularly pretty script, but will hopefully tide us over until WK provides summaries natively.
I just don’t really understand why it was removed to begin with. Did people complain about the summary page? Did they just assume no one really wants it?
Why not make it a toggleable option? Just seems like a really harebrained decision to remove it.
I do hope it will come back the way it was, as many mentioned, it was a crucial part of gauging my performance and If I’m ready to move on with lessons.
The staff team are planning on replacing it with something better in the near future.
I agree 100%. Please bring back the Session Review!
Needless to say, I would very much like it back as well. I agree with you all, it was a huge motivation boost and a great way to immediately get an overview of some of the recent mistakes. Please bring it back!
I hope that the ‘replace with something better’ means literally bringing back the old thing, maybe with added functionality to jump straight into the ‘extra study’ style recent mistakes reviews from the last review session.
Anyhow, not sure why it was removed in the first place. It was working just fine and literally, no one had any problems with it. Looking forward to seeing my beloved session review summary again ;_;
sobs after 325 reviews
+1
I used the review summary to communicate my progress to my teacher, and used the lesson summary to transport vocab to my Anki deck for hiragana->English study. Now the first is impossible and the second I have to do item-by-item as I study them.
I’ve barely posted on these forums as i never felt a need to. But good lord give me back my summary screen. As someone with motivation issues at times, it was key to giving me the “clicks” i needed.
I just don’t see the reason to remove it, it occupied a fraction of a seconds viewing.
Just want to agree with what most people have said. I try to stay above 80%. The summary is the actual trigger for me to decide to use the extra review tool in the first place! Session timeouts rarely caused me problems; the lack of a review will impact my learning after every session.
I assume the goal was initially to fix the session timeout errors from what I read on the announcement thread. From what I’ve been able to tell from other update threads is that their dev team is currently in the process of overhauling/modernising their codebase - what I am hoping is that they decided an interim solution wasn’t worth the effort, and will recreate the summary page in the future.
The crucial word there being hoping as I haven’t heard that is the case from any of their team. Either way, even with the benefit of the doubt it does feel like a bit of a hamfisted solution to the problem - In that case, I can’t see why waiting a bit longer for a new summary page would’ve hurt since most of the changes seem to be under-the-hood codebase ones and not visible to the end user.
+1 Please…
