金持ち accepts and displays ‘rich’, ‘wealthy’, and ‘rich person’ - but doesn’t allow ‘wealthy person’, which seems a little awkward. Is this intentional or an oversight?

You should be able to add synonyms there:
But yeah, it does seem like it might make sense for WaniKani to accept “wealthy person” in addition to “wealthy”, “rich”, and “rich person” by default for 金持ち. Nice catch!
