So… in the drama doesn’t Momoko (Sumire’s oneesan) have short(ish) hair? Is it allowed or not allowed? I’ve been wondering about this for a while now.

Pretty sure previous chapters established that Geiko wear wigs, but Maiko have to use their natural hair.

Think the most groundbreaking thing in this chapter is the use of an actual vegetable peeler. I’ve never understood why they always use knives to peel vegetables in manga - it’s so much easier with a peeler.
Kiyo knows them too well…

The location they’re in at the beginning of the chapter is Maruyama Park (though it’s written on the signpost on the chapter’s second page with the more archaic 圓山 rather than the modern 円山). Later, they’ve moved around the block to the front gate of Yasaka Shrine.
For the final page of the chapter, the correct answer for what they’re eating is アメリカンドッグ (I knew that the moment it first showed up). フレンチドッグ are eaten with sugar rather than ketchup (like French bread, hence the name), while ホットドッグ are sausages on buns. Though apparently フレンチドッグ also typically use fish sausages, so Kiyo’s version comes fairly close. Another similar food is ハットグ, though that one’s distinguishable in that it’s roughly 90% cheese.

Letting the noodles sit so long you have to eat them with a spoon is, uh… something.
Looks like Sumire’s overwork problems go waaaay back. But hey, it’s Japan, so it’s not “child labour violations”, its “dilligent”.

So, the gloves stop them getting their makeup on their kimono, but what’s stopping the gloves from just smearing all the makeup off?
Also, why’s Kiyo just standing up the back?

Chapter 69: Did I read that wrong or is 小豆ばっと supposed to be a sweet dish? If so, I can’t stop being surprised by what the japanese call desserts
Chapter 70: I think Kiyo is like in the backstage region (like where they control the lights from and such)? Or maybe it’s just how the author framed it to highlight Kiyo
