This chapter is kinda cute, but I feel like she’s taking “above and beyond” to a ridiculous extent. We never really resolved that “Sumire overworking herself” subplot from a volume or two ago, did we?

Finished chapter 32. Super cute!
In this chapter it feels like this is something she enjoys doing. Getting to know people and picking out cute stationary … I’m getting the sense that you can’t really be a maiko if you are not absurdly extroverted. (At least, as an introvert it seems absurdly extroverted.
Chapter 33, aka Kiyo-chan’s moment to go above and beyond! Although, again, it feels like she’s doing it cause she cares, not cause she’s an overachiever.
The start of this volume has felt super extra cozy so far!

I mostly want to see if I can do a better job of hollowing out the apple with a spoon.
Though I did buy a bunch of apples this week that are much grainier than I really like, so maybe it might be worth trying this out…
