Of the two chapters today, I think this is the less technical one, but its still pretty technical! It helps to know the word 博愛, which can be translated to benevolence? Is there a better meaning//translation that y’all know?
Still, a fun silly little chapter. 1SEO was my favorite part, along with the still panel of Seo throwing the cards on Waka!

Definitely one of the more technical chapters. A lot of details about the manga making process, and lots of reading handwriting, which is definitely a weakness for me!
Overall, very interesting and made me think of parts of the manga industry that I haven’t thought about before, and of course, the running joke with how Nozaki draws Sakura is wonderful and concludes excellently!
Also, thanks for sharing @heikimi !! I didn’t know there was a book club for it!
I mined this word exactly. In my native language we have something similar to “love for humanity” or “love of fellow man”, so I chose it. Wakamatsu’s friends are full of it, haha:

So 野崎 chose to draw himself as a girl? Maybe in spite of the previous chapter, where he positioned himself as a male mangaka (and it didn’t do him any good)
Oh that is a better translation! Thank you for sharing!!!
Yes it seems so! I think it adds to the running gag [spoiler]for when he is drawing sakura, he unconsciously would rather draw himself as a girl than draw Sakura as anything other than a ribon.
Also, Yumeno-sensei and all that, sure he has lots of experience doing that!

79 and 80 for this week! I have tons of free time tomorrow so I’ll read and write up then!
Just realized after all this time, there is no chapter 80 in this issue! Instead there is a bonus Omake chapter we can talk about instead!!

What a banging HoriKashi chapter to end on! Very very very very very very cute and romantic!!!
Also, I have literally never had any sweets with alcohol in them in my life, but I’m pretty sure that level of alcohol is like literally nothing. Maybe I’m biased because I can drink a lot, but this trope keeps coming up, and I’m sure its only because magazines don’t like portraying minors drinking alcohol? Does anyone know if this is a law or a practice? It feels weird that murder is okay but drinking is NG
Omake
I remember reading this in English ages ago! The younger sister appears! I love how she just doesn’t believe Nozaki, and seeing their family dynamic was fun! Personally I’m down for a chapter like this in every volume!
The best punchline was Mayu being too lazy to correct her lol
As someone who has eaten sweets with alcohol in them, yes, you’d get chocolate poisoning before you get anywhere near drunk.
I also don’t understand why they like telling this joke in manga/anime, but I usually only see it in comedies, so it’s probably nothing to take very seriously.

Gekkan Yuri Nozaki-kun
Loved this one where Nozaki tries to convince his sister by telling her the plot of the next manga chapter but ends up noting down her idea instead
Yeah thank you @heikimi! I didn’t know there was a club for that either.
Volume End Thoughts
I feel like this volume had some great chapters! I will admit I feel a bit bad for Hori getting cake drunk haha, that poor man. But also it was so cuteeeee hahaha.
And getting to meet Nozaki’s sister! When I first started reading it I was real tired, and it didn’t register that she’s actually their sibling for some reason haha. I guess I thought she was just a random girl?? Maybe just because she hadn’t been mentioned at all until then. But I reread it the next day and it made sense then, and she brought some funny jokes! The dynamic between the three of them is great and I hope we get to see more
