Despite of this, it shouldn’t be much of a problem to read it without knowing the other volumes. Of course we learned about the main protagonists’ backgrounds in previous books, but usually there is a quick recap in each volume that covers the most important points. Character development is also very slow because each volume’s main focus is on a given criminal case and not on the life of the people around it, and the cases themselves have been totally unrelated so far. In any case, if you are wondering about anything while reading this book, you are of course free to ask and somebody can fill you in.
We could try increasing the pace during the upcoming week and see how it everyone likes it. If it’s too fast we could go back to the original pace. How about one chapter a week?
Same here My days are currently pretty mixed and predictions are quite difficult. If everybody likes to go faster, I don’t want to be in the way (and I don‘t mind trailing behind).
@Redglare have you thought about a new schedule yet? Should we simply double the speed (i.e. read two weeks‘ amount in one week) or do you have something else in mind?
Yeah, I’m thinking doubling it so we’re reading one chapter per week. If people don’t mind trailing behind, we could try just for the upcoming week and see if we want to keep going like that or go back to the original pace.
I don’t exactly want to ruin the club either with lots of people trailing behind
After actually voting for fast weeks… 2 weeks ago? I got so overwhelmed that I’m only just now getting back to reading more than a handful of pages regularly. It’ll be a bit before I’m caught up again, what with ~100 pages of 理由 also still waiting for me… Oh well. On a positive note, things shall be calmer for this month. (We moved successfully. Old apartment keys were safely returned so we can concentrate on only making the new one livable now. XD)
