I read ahead and finished volume 2 today. I don’t think I enjoyed it as much as the first volume, but I immediately bought volume 3.

For those still planning to continue reading this manga, how do you all feel about our approach for volume 3 and the next ones?
I don’t mind making threads weekly for each chapter as it has been done until now, but considering that
- Only a few of us seem to be still reading
- Each thread barely gets a handful pawful of replies
- A few have commented they are planning to read ahead or at their own pace
I was thinking that maybe we should go for a more general approach. Perhaps something like a miscellaneous discussion thread like the ones for “Wandering Son” or “I want to eat your Pancreas”?
Please let me know your thoughts / suggestions!

Being one of the people who have… Ahem read ahead, I am in favor of a general discussion thread that’s not restricted to certain chapters.
If people are getting some use out of the weekly threads that they would not a general one, then I’m for the weeklies. Like, I don’t know. External motivation?

I’ve been following the threads silently, because I honestly want to hear people’s thoughts on the finale when you get there, but I’m not sure I want to buy a whole new set of manga in Japanese…

I haven’t continued with reading this, but wanted to mention a compromise option you guys might want to consider - you could have a thread per volume.
Weekly threads do continue to give you that reminder / motivation aspect though.

I am definitely going to read this whole series, (2 chapters in vol 3 now:3), so I think general discussion or one per volume would be better?

Thanks to everyone for their feedback. So it seems we all agree on a thread per volume.
Considering we are all going to be reading at our own pace from now on (I also plan to start reading faster), I guess the right way to go about this would be to create all 4 threads for volumes 3,4,5 and 6 at the same time, so that we can discuss and ask questions no matter where in the story we currently are?
If everyone is fine with that, I would create the threads tomorrow.

Vocabulary will resume to be put on the excel sheet, right? (It’s still labeled “Volume 1” on the chapter threads.) I do plan on catching up, but I’m kind of relying on pre-studying vocabulary. I’m so behind because a package took a little over a month to deliver. (Also summer laziness is painful.)
I wasn’t really planning to continue filling in the vocab in the spreadsheet since I wasn’t aware of anyone using it, but seeing that’s not actually the case, I’ll do my best to continue with that Of course if anyone else wants to help out with that too, please do!
@seanblue Please, if it is not too much trouble, would you mind renaming the Google Doc to simply “少女終末旅行 Vocab” ?
Personally I think it’s better to have a separate spreadsheet per volume, but I can rename it if you want.

- Single vocab file for all volumes
- One vocab file per volume

I’ll go ahead and link to the current vocab doc for the new threads, and just adjust the links if the poll results point to a per-volume doc.
I’ll give my reason for voting for one file per volume: People in the future might be interested in the book and might get confused for why later volumes are linking to what they thought was only volume one’s vocabulary list.
I completely agree with you, that’s why if the single-file-for-all option wins in the poll, we’ll rename the file so that it doesn’t say “Volume 1” anymore to avoid confusion.
As for my reasons for preferring a single file: often I run into a word I’m sure I’ve seen before in some previous chapter, but I can’t remember in which chapter or volume. With a single file we can easily do a search in that scenario. With a file-per-volume we might ending up opening multiple files looking for that vocab.

So, checking the poll it appears most would prefer a single vocab file for all volumes.
