Skimming back over the final chapter, since it’s been a few weeks since I read it!! Also I noticed that since more of us finished reading, the level for this series dropped a bit on Learn Natively LOL
I really love this little play that Rei puts on for Mira… The way that he uses it to reframe her illness, teaching her to think about it differently. Plus, notably!! The way that he even talks about it as a “power” here, instead, rather than an illness!! And then finally talking about it as salvation…
This was such a cute ending to the volume.
Also, for people not reading from the volumes: I wanted to post some of the bonus illustrations/character design pages!
I think this one is especially important to share because it’s Rei with his hair down. And looking even more Gender than he usually does!
Since we’ve finished the volume, I also wanted to thank @hotdogsuplex for nominating and hosting this!!! This was really fun and I’m glad that we’ll be continuing. And from your nomination post: you were right. I definitely learned the word 師匠 LOL
Funnily enough, I learned that one from Tongari Boushi. It first occured in like volume 7 and I spent ages looking it up, and now I see it everywhere. E-very-where.
So I somehow completely missed that this was the last chapter (probably because the ebook has like 15 more pages of extra content). But I really enjoyed the story. It was very wholesome and an unusual story. Thanks for hosting this.
Final chapter
All this time, I thought that the little shadows were made by her. The fact that she rescued them makes it so much better. And they saw that she was down so they made a play to cheer her up. I love that.
As this is my first book club, I’m not sure how things work. Will the other volumes in the series also be read? I did see some offshoots from other books, but I’m not sure what normally happens.
This was my first book club here, so thanks everyone for making it fun! I’m looking forward to reading the rest of the series too!
Last chapter thoughts
The artwork in this chapter was so cute and also so beautiful, and I have to wonder how expensive it was to print since many of the pages have tons of black ink covering them.
I was glad to get a little more of an explanation about Mira’s background and powers here. From what I understood the little cute dark guys actually came to Mira to help them since her powers create darkness and they need to live in it to survive. I think that is such a cute concept and I wonder if in the future books we learn more about the little darkness creatures! I hope so since they are so cute getting all dressed up and putting on a show.
