Drunk on 迷い星 ! I wonder if that has something to do with her shadow/darkness condition.

This chapter is so cute! I really want to try the star jam too! I like it to taste like key lime pie… yummmmm now I’m hungry…

Last minute, but I finally got around to doing this week’s reading. I was especially thankful for the labeling on the boxes which allowed me to (correctly: I checked after finishing the reading) infer the reading of 迷い星 by parallel to the labeling ほし, as I knew the kun reading of 星. My guess as to the meaning (falling star) was, however, incorrect. Once I looked up 迷い星 and saw the meanings/readings of the kanji, I was able to recognize 迷 as the kanji used in 迷子, so that’s a helpful connection

Thoughts on section

The star jam sounds really interesting, too bad I can’t try it. It seems very easy to mess up though, if just one single misplaced star can have such an effect. But the face Rei made when he realized Mira was drunk was hilarious.

Liveblog

This chapter made me want to see someone recreate the jam in real life, like I saw a lot of people do with the Dungeon Meshi dishes. Specifically with someone’s recreation of the exorcism sorbet, because it also has those candy-like elements.

I was mulling over the right-most bubble here, because I was thrown by the usage of もの. I was seeing that another usage of もの can also be something’s classification? As a rough idea of what I’m understanding it as: “A ‘star’ is classified as a shooting star that merely got trapped in a cloud.”

Going to continue with the next readings tomorrow, but I’m enjoying this so far. It’s cute.
