商人の血 explanation

Google translate has a pretty amusing interpretation of this

I assume Xの血 means “as an X”? Is 血 still pronounched “ち”?

It looks like it just doesn’t recognize 血がさわぐ as an expression meaning something like “to be thrilling”, instead opting to translate it literally, I have no idea why it decided to pick “to be refreshing” for さわぐ though. It’s just google translate being bad at expressions.

Yeah, I would say this is like “(My) merchant’s blood is pumping” in a more literal sense or something like that. Not that their English sentence is wrong or anything. But the の is just how you connect a noun to a noun, rather than being something like “as an X” more generally.

That makes a lot more sense, thanks!

This kinda sounds like something that r/WallStreetBets might say…
