分 meaning?

Hi, I’m quite new to learning Japanese and I’m having some confusion about the meaning of the 分 kanji.

One of the synonyms is “minute”. Does that mean “minute” as in a measurement of time or “minute(pronounced: my-noot)” as in very small?

thank you

The time measurement.

時 = hour
分 = minute
秒 = second

It’s minute as in time :slight_smile:

I think of it as a part of a longer time.
