今はもうない - Switch Back

Welcome to 今はもうない - Switch Back

This book is Volume 8 of the Saikawa & Moe (S&M) Series Book Club. Join the Saikawa & Moe (S&M) Series Book Club here!

Despite of this, it shouldn’t be much of a problem to read it without knowing the other volumes. Of course we learned about the main protagonists’ backgrounds in previous books, but usually there is a quick recap in each volume that covers the most important points. Character development is also very slow because each volume’s main focus is on a given criminal case and not on the life of the people around it, and the cases themselves have been totally unrelated so far. In any case, if you are wondering about anything while reading this book, you are of course free to ask and somebody can fill you in.

Hello and welcome to our next 森博嗣 book!

I had a look at the chapter lengths, and this time Mori really plays some nasty tricks on us

My page count estimates look like this:

Chapter name ~ Length
意味のないプロローグ 24
第一幕 195
必要のない幕間 18
第二幕 185
重要でない幕間 16
第三幕 50
なくてもいい幕間 18
最終幕 16
まったく余分なエピローグ 21

:exploding_head:

My plan would be to combine the prologue and the 幕間 with the following chapter, breaking up the longer ones into three weeks each, and adding the epilogue to the last week. That would give us 8 weeks of 60-70(ish) pages per week. (Will add details once we get to a rough agreement.)

What do you think?

  • Sounds good to me
  • I have another idea (please explain)
  • I would prefer to read fewer pages per week
  • I would prefer to read more pages per week

OK, in the club’s home thread nobody seriously complained about starting mid-March (@Jfredel78 we trust in your ability to catch up! @BadPlayer thanks for your patience as always :+1:) so I declare this book club to start on

March 16th, 2024

I will set up a schedule next week or so, according to what I sketched above.

I’ve updated the OP with a reading schedule. The page counts are derived from the ebook, so I consider them a rough estimate, but I don’t think it matters for this group either way. See you in March! :upside_down_face:

Posting week 4 a bit early for a change

Getting ever earlier with the new thread

Truth be told, I will be quite busy from tomorrow, so I figured I’d better post a bit earlier

I will probably not be able to post the last week’s thread on time, so here it is already:

Enjoy the ride 'til the end! :+1:
