Yeah, the way I meant that automation part, is once you have the very manually made “collection of grammar points and their explanations” sheet, you could have a script that takes that and makes it easily insertable wihout having to look through the entire list somehow.

Thanks for the explanations! It does indeed seem like a hassle.
I’m currently leaning strongly towards our usual approach - not having a grammar sheet, and when people want to know the grammar behind a sentence, they can just check to see if that sentence has already an answer in the thread, and if not ask and wait a bit.
Questions are good for the thread anyway, and usually result in good explanations.

Ya so I tried doing hxh and happiness (technically I read all of happiness vol1 but well after the club was done with it) and was using those grammar sheets. But I guess I’ll just resort to vocab sheet and asking questions!! I should probably start studying grammar independently…

Hey! I’m really excited to join the ABBC for the first time 
I don’t have much knowledge of kanji and didn’t consider learning grammar yet, but I was exposed to the japanese language for a lot of years through anime and drama series, so I recognize some phrases. Tried to study on and off for a lot of years but abandoned it pretty quickly since I tried to do it the boring way. Now I’m trying to immerse myself as much as possible into the language the fun way (for me that’s playing hiragana/katakana quizzes, wanikanki is sort of a quiz game for me, and reading graded readers level 0 books). I thought reading this manga with you guys is a good addition to that 
I already skimmed through the pages of Week1 and noticed that it’s way of my league but I already enjoy just reading the kana. Also looked up some kanji where it said which wanikani level they will appear in, kinda motivating to be able to reach that level then. Also looking forward to the questions and discussions to pick up some grammar here and there. Also way more fun to have the human conversation aspect in it, again, studying grammar the dry way didn’t encourage me. So yeah… nothing else to say… just excited to start

Especially since when it actually becomes the 18th in my time zone in 25 hours, I have to go to sleep very soon afterwards (instead of, you know, refreshing the thread every 10 seconds), and then the next day I’m at a wedding (I think checking your smartphone all the time might be bad etiquette).

Hello! This will be my first time joining the ABBC, and first manga 
I lazily began learning Japanese in 2019 for a trip to Japan I was going to take in March of 2020, and dropped it when that got cancelled. However, I picked it back up more seriously this time at the end of last October. Currently finishing up chapter 9 of Genki 1, using WaniKani/Anki, and immersing via graded readers, anime, and podcasts. Working through the first 10 pages or so has already been super rewarding, and I’m stoked to get started and ask questions! Everyone seems very nice

Considering they are all friends/family of the bride and the groom, I’d expect a decent amount of Japanophilia at the party. So, good luck with that

I hope it means “Eh, what kind of sentence would be good / would you like?”, but considering my conversational skills…
Maybe I should go with “これは…*dramatic pause*…ペンです。”

Is これはペンです the go-to foobar example sentence that every resource goes with? I see that sentence given as an example so frequently.
