I like these dream sequences where we get some exposition and character development and it feels super natural. It makes a lot of sense that Marcille’s fear as an elf is other people growing older and dying to be honest
I find the illustration for this chapter pretty cool!

Indeed! Though I wouldn’t mind being an elf, would have finally enough lifetime to read all the books on my to-read pile then.
Usually I try to reread chapters, but I don’t want to this time… Too nighmarish for me, feels real. Great chapter though! As is the whole volume. Looking forward to the next one!
It’s oddly similar to one of the Mushishi stories we’ve read with the IMC a little while ago.

Nightmarish indeed. Although I guess I shouldn’t dismiss them before I tried. I think traditionally it was filled with grain.

I slept on a buckwheat one in a ryoukan. I actually kind of want to get one for home and see if it’s better than the ten thousand ergonomic pillows i have, none of which are quiiiite right. I feel like I had a decent night’s sleep on the buckwheat, but idk.
