のように meaning?

I saw this in the lyrics of a song (I removed the useless parts of the sentence):

古の魔法のように、君に会いたい

My question is, what does the ように mean here?

It’s kind of similar to “in the fashion of” or “similar to”.
魔法のよう can be translated as “like magic”.

So this part of the sentence would be something like:

“Like the magic of yore, I want to meet you”?

I see it as more of ‘It’s as if an old spell was cast on me. I want to meet you.’
Obviously that’s embellishing a bit.

Aaaaah, I see now. Thanks!

Thinking about it a bit more, I’m pretty sure that に just marks よう as an adverb.
Something similar to this:
彼は鳥のように飛んでみた
He tried to fly like a bird.

鳥のよう describes 飛ぶ because it’s marked with に.

Yeah, that would make sense. Thanks!
