TWO-MIX ｘ Detective Conan
Minami voices Conan in the animated adaptation of Detective Conan, so in a way, it was a natural fit for the duo to appear in the manga (and later in a two-part anime adaptation of the manga story).
They even poke fun at Minami and Conan having the same voice:
“Minami and Conan’s voices are exactly the same!!”
The pop duo also performed the anime’s fifth opening theme, titled “TRUTH ~A Great Detective of Love~”.

How odd. I specifically made certain I did that, and I actually used the “copy link” button from the permissions section after checking the permissions (which copied over from the volume 1 sheet).

I try to join in with the discussions, it helps me too to answer questions and sometimes I end up learning new things too 
I only have two reading paces anyway: full speed ahead and not at all So keeping pace with a book club is basically impossible for me.

Unfortunately “full speed ahead” does mean starting to read a volume and just not putting it down, so multiple book clubs would result in me neglecting some of them while steaming ahead of others

I’ll take this in pieces and put them together along the way.
In the first word balloon, we have the verb 聞く, which in context means “to hear”.
It’s in the form 聞いて + いる, making it active, “hearing”. But it’s also past (た), so “was hearing”. Also, the い is dropped in casual speech, so 聞いていた comes out as 聞いてた.
The word 通り in this usage means that something is was as expected.
This gives something like, “It is as I was hearing.”
山奥 is “deep in the mountains”, which we may presume is where she’s from.
She’s determined that things are like she was hearing back in the mountains.
Add in やっぱり for a “sure enough”, and we have:
“Sure enough, it’s just as I was hearing deep in the mountains.”
The second balloon has a sentence in the 「ｘほうがいい」 format.
The word ほう refers to a side of something.
Imagine watching a sports team, and someone asks you, “Which side are you rooting for?”
Consider you see one movie while a friend sees a different one. Afterward, your friend asks how the movie was on your side. (Well, that doesn’t sound natural in English…)
This 「ｘほうがいい」 is a way of saying one side is better than the other. Saying one side is いい (good) indirectly suggests the other side is bad.
In this case, the “side” is 近づかない. This means “to not get close” and presumably is the other side is 近づく “to get close”.
She had tried getting close, only to end up running away. Compared with getting close, the “side” of not getting close is good (いい), indirectly suggesting the side of getting close is bad.
This sentence of “not getting close is good” is turned into a noun with の and then かも is added, which is short for か＋も＋しれない。
かもしれない is a combination of the interrogative particle か (questioning), the inclusive particle も (“even”), and the verb 知る (“to know”) modified to the negative potential non-past 知れない (“cannot be known”). Together, it means “cannot even be known whether”, which can be condensed to the word “might”.
Together, she’s saying, “It might be that the side of not getting close is good.”
Said otherwise, “Maybe it’s better not to get close.”

I’m guessing the まで is some form of exasperation? Is this the same or different as the use on page 13? In that case I thought kitune was commenting on ドライアド様 “still” being in her official form, but now I’m thinking there is a nuance I’m missing here.
