We will start reading on the 5th of September. The book is divided into chapters (days; 日目) and sections, and has some illustrations in between. Pages should also be numbered, and 一日目 starts on page 5. We will aim for 15 pages/week, but start with 10 pages for week 1 so everyone can ease into it.
I was waffling back and forth if I wanted to read this and with the BW sale was thinking of putting it into my cart and seeing how I felt…but y’all… I already bought it before. I..have no recollection of buying this book, but I have the full furigana version in BW library so I guess I’ll be joining.
I watched the film yesterday. After watching it I wasn’t so sure I would want to read the book. But on the other hand reading the book will perhaps help in understanding the film? I’ll give it a try …
I will say, I’m a pretty big fan of Your Name/君の名は, another movie by this director. I read the novelization sometime last year for Japanese practice and even though I was excited about it, it was really just a pretty scene for scene copy of the movie with some extra tidbits and internal dialogue. It’s definitely not your usual book to movie adaptation scenario.

By the way, on my Kindle this book is very slow. Like turning the page or selecting text is extremely slow. Is anyone else experiencing this on Kindle?
i am reading on bookwalker and it is the same for me, no illustrations whatsoever~ i assume that the first section is until the *** on page 17, but not sure if i got it right!
I’ve got illustrations. I decided to be lazy and picked up the Tsubasa Bunko edition (i.e. the full furigana version), and my page numbers match the ones in the schedule, so either snowwater also has the Tsubasa Bunko edition, or else there’s no significant differences in page counts between that and the regular version.
The text immediately before the break should be え、だって、なんかあっけなくない？
omg thank you for the info! in that case that is page 26 in my version, and now i think about it, this first section did strike me as suspiciously short :> uff, going back to reading!
also @MaraVos i checked and in my version 一日目 starts on page 8, so most likely it’s going to be smth else for you completly~
Huh, it makes sense some version don’t have it. hmm,I should have considered that. I’ll try to update the break points in the upcoming days to include the last sentence before the image
Hmm. I’m honestly not sure where snowwater intended this break to be. The image being described is on page 174 for me, so perhaps there are some differences between our versions. That said, there’s a section break on this page too, right inside the fold, so possibly that’s the intended stopping point. The last line before it is 眼鏡の中の棘が、ふわりと弱まった。
