I love reading challenges! I try and read every morning with coffee in bed for about 1.5 hours. 
When I read at night I can’t focus on the the words. 
Finished 2nd story (夏）and going to take break before going on to (秋）:
迷犬マジック A book with 4 different “short” stories about a stray dog who comes into people’s lives and wonderful things start happening for them. Warm, slice-of-life fiction with a magical-realism for adults. Great for building vocabulary because each story repeats a lot of the same words that are dog related. I also like to listen to the audio version at the same time for listening practice.
Starting this today (7/3). My friend read it in English and recommended it to me. I see that it was also read by a WK book club so all of the vocabulary is available and there’s an audiobook version! So excited…

I took advantage of the Satori Reader sale and am back on the app after being away for about two years. It’s really encouraging to revisit the stories now and notice that they don’t feel as challenging as they once did. I still save a few words to the flashcards, even though I’m not really a flashcard person. What helps me more is copying words I want to remember into my WaniKani notes with the title of the story or book where I found them, so I have some kind of hook to the word. Completed 7/15-7/18
