While I suffered with the previous part, I breezed through this one (though maybe it’s cuz it was also much shorter). I feel like I am finally invested in the story a bit more! The entire sequence on the ferry was, in my opinion, very much needed after the fast-paced action of the previous sections.
The last sunrise scene got me feeling excited for what’s next~ As a side note, I also had to google 宇和海 to have a rough idea where are we located now, physically. Uh, my geographical knowledge of Japan is practically nonexistent xD
I am also really curious to see how do they plan on finding that cat, by the way, because to me it seems somewhat difficult (read: bordering on impossible)
Alrighty. Have finished the reading myself. If anyone wants to follow along with the movie, the end of the 一日目 chapter corresponds to about 00:23:20. Reckon the whole section after the last asterisk break should be in the next day, though, considering it’s past sunrise.
You and Jisho both, Suzume.
Considering the cat’s last words to Suzume were またね, there’s clearly some expectation on the cat’s part, at least, that he’ll be found. Or maybe it’s a “don’t find me, I’ll find you”.
well * sweats nervously * it refers to the part of the 豊後水道 that’s closer to 愛媛県, if i got it right! tbh i feel very uneducated - i lived for half a year in oita, i feel like i should know those things, but sadly, it seems that remembering all the prefectures is the limit of my capabilities xD
It was nice to have a shorter part again. I wonder if her mom was also one of the door closers and that’s why the terms seem familiar to her. Or does it have something to do with the dreams instead?
To me as well, assuming it doesn’t let them.
It’s always so funny when I try to look up unfamiliar words because I think it’s just me being bad at the language and it later turns out that they were made up for the purpose of the story (or so niche that the average native reader doesn’t know them either).
