Sorry if that’s too much kanji–I am not so bad at that after 21 levels… but I am an absolute grammar beginner! I was trying to say “Ticks are my least favorite insects. They are dangerous for my dog.” I wasn’t sure what particle to use for the second sentence at all.
虫が分からないです indicates you don’t understand what 虫 means. You can say 虫のしゅるいをあまり知りません instead. 知らない indicates that you don’t possess knowledge of something.
なのに implies that you perceive someone’s action or a particular situation is contradictive. For example, you can say “蝶が好きなのになぜにげるの?(Why are you getting away from butterflies although you like them?”.
