I just had the issue again 6 or so times during a review session of 90 terms, wondering if it came back for others too? I’m on macOS High Sierra, latest Chrome.

Have gone through about 100 reviews in my current session and have disconnected 4 or 5 times now while actively doing reviews.

OS: Windows 10 20H2
Browser: Firefox 91.0

Edit: Went and tried on Chrome (have scripts installed for firefox but not for chrome) and when I initially tried to start the session it gave me an error that said something went wrong (WaniKani error page not chrome.) Got about 8 reviews in and it gave me the lost connection error, however it let me continue typing answers and doing reviews with just the time-out overlay sitting on the screen as long as I didn’t click the pop-up to refresh.

i use phone app, dont think the browser scripts carry over to that?

Correct. The scripts are installed through a browser plugin, so if you’re using one of the apps from the app store they wouldn’t carry over.

It just happened to me too, but the site worked again once I clicked the reload icon that popped up. I lost my progress too, but fortunately, it was just lessons and they took seconds to redo.

I think Tsurukame (or other apps) sync when you get the English and Japanese both correct on a single note. I don’t think these outages would affect apps, but I’m not sure either.

I am also encountering this issue.

  • My initial study session failed to load, presenting me with a “we have been notified” screen.
  • Upon completing five reviews, I received the “You have lost connection”.
  • Once I restarted, I submitted two answers perfectly fine, but the third is hanging on submitting.

Chrome 92.0.4515.131

I’m also getting pretty frequent disconnects, using Microsoft Edge!

Phew. Okay, so it’s not just me. It had cleared up a couple days ago, but now I can’t get through 5 review items with out it getting a case of the hiccups.

Also got the “You have lost connection” message and the never loading info screen for items.

(Firefox 91.0 with scripts)

Happened to me too. PC Windows 10, lots of scripts. It’s been also happening on my MS Surface Pro. Both on Chrome browser… been happening for about 3 days to me too on and off. Hoping we can get a fix soon as it does break up my momentum sometimes

Had 3 disconnects right now.
macOS 11.4 on Firefox 90.0.2

2 disconnects, Firefox with scripts.
First disconnect when initiating review session, second one during the session.
Took a while to get back to the dashboard.

Just happened to me. Two disconnects in the same review session.

I’m using latest version of Chrome on MacOS (plus various userscripts).

Just happened to me twice in the last ten minutes. No scripts. Chrome.

Same here, just started to throw me out with “Connection lost” every 3-5 minutes. I’m using Safari without scripts.
